I'm sure my mother would understand that it would be my own fault--Ah. Well.

I didn't want to worry you. [ But attempting to distract him with news of more Middle Earth elves didn't go very well. ] There's just this...beast, that has been stopping us from being able to get off the island. We've got a plan, though! Which is coming together quite well.

It's just that--I've never even heard of anything like it before. I was hoping that you might have some knowledge of something similar. Your lore doesn't seem quite so...ah. Lost to time.

I am sure of your capabilities, and equally confident your plan will succeed.

There are many creatures that made their home in Middle-earth, often born or nurtured by the hand of the Enemy. I am afraid I cannot offer you much aid. I fought in a war where I witnessed a great many of these creatures, but I was young and felled early on in the battle. I spent the remainder of the war healing.
