The Lady Seeker and I were having a conversation. I saw a letter I was not supposed to, and rather than bid me keep my silence, allowed me to lead a group to handle the matter mentioned therein.
Venatori were seeking objects that could be used as keys to an elvhen temple in the Oasis. The keys were hidden to normal sight, and could be found through a device known as an oculara. The ocularum were made from skulls- these keys, these shards had been invisible until the Breach, but through use of an oculara, could be found.
We found several dozen shards, and crates full of skulls. Not any skull would do. The Venatori were very specific on that. It needed to be the skull of a Tranquil.
[ a clever way of handling it — and a subtler touch than what word of the woman would have her expect. but there's little time to turn it over in her hands; they're full enough with the rest. ]
Severed from the Fade.
[ it's quiet. in the background, abruptly, a hard thunk; a harsh breath. ]
Has there been an accounting? Of those that remain?
[ if her voice rasps now, it's only old injury. nothing new. none of this will be,
it doesn't bear repeating, thranduil's no fool, and the impossible already walks among them. the venatori found a way, or only believed they had, and either's dangerous enough to warrant attention. ]
Our records were thorough, [ until they needed to be otherwise — ] And were often targeted, during the Rebellion. The remains are disorganized, incomplete. This will be more involved than checking against a list.
[ will be, because they can hardly let this go. ]

[ which flies in the face of what little he knows about the tranquil, for all that he has one in his office. ]
We found, perhaps, a few dozen Ocularum. I do not know if the Circles kept a list of their Tranquil.

[ for all that he detests their order for what they can do, he respects wren. much in the same way he respected herian.
in contrast, he does not lack all consideration for wren. ]
How many were in your Circle?
